Family Astronomy Day – Celebrate the Reopening of the Barlow Planetarium
We’re reopening the Barlow Planetarium, and we want you to help us celebrate!
Join us on Saturday, Sept. 27 for Family Astronomy Day — a full day of fun, learning, and looking up at the stars.
What to Expect:
- Free activities for all ages
- Make lunar and Martian craters
- View a black hole simulation
- Snap a photo at the selfie station
- Telescope viewing – Step outside from 6:30–9:30 p.m. and get a close-up look at the Moon and beyond.
- Planetarium shows – Six shows throughout the afternoon and evening (tickets required):
- 1:00 p.m. | Lifestyles of the Stars (Children’s Show)
- 2:30 p.m. | Taylor Swift Laser Show (Family Music Show)
- 4:00 p.m. | Space Aliens (Feature Show)
- 6:00 p.m. | Lifestyles of the Stars (Children’s Show)
- 7:30 p.m. | Space Aliens (Feature Show)
- 9:00 p.m. | Pink Floyd Double Feature (Laser Music Show)
- Astrophotography gallery – See amazing images of the night sky taken by professional astrophotographers.
