Private Group Planetarium Programs

Bring your private group to the planetarium for your very own private program. We welcome groups of all kinds. Church groups, community and civic groups as well as office parties and family get togethers. Employers, group visits to the Barlow Planetarium are a terrific way to reward your employees and customers while taking advantage of discounted pricing. Private group shows must be booked at least a week in advance.

Private Group Program Of Your Choice

Have a private planetarium show of your choice for your group when booked at least one week in advance.

Tuesday – Thursday at 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm
Saturdays at 9 am, 10 am or 11 am

Pricing:

Non-members: $10 per guest ($150 minimum)
Barlow Members: $7 per guest ($105 minimum)

Private Room

$100 for up to 2 additional hour

Discounted Group Rate for Regularly Scheduled Shows

Have your group of 10 or more attend a regularly scheduled public show for a discounted price. Online advanced purchase only, not available at the box office!

Available Times:

During any of Barlow’s regularly scheduled public shows.

Star Show Pricing:

Non-members: $7 per guest ($70 minimum. Online advance purchase only.)
Barlow Members: Complimentary admission for Members / non-members $7 per guest

Evening Laser Show Pricing:

Non-members: $10 per guest ($100 minimum. Online advance purchase only.)
Barlow Members: Complimentary admission for Members / non-members $10 per guest

Private/Non-profit Portable Planetarium Programs

Bring the universe to your private event! Our portable planetarium offers an immersive astronomy experience for offices, conferences, libraries, and special events. (Are you with a school? Please go to the school portable page HERE!)

  • Must have adequate indoor space. (A gym or cafeteria will often be adequate.)
    *Ceiling height: Minimum of 15 feet (Any ceiling sprinkler heads must be higher than 15 feet.)
    *Room size: Minimum of 27x27 feet
    *Two power outlets (normal 120V line)
    *Internet access (ideal but can run without it)

  • Setup requirements
    *There must be level entry, ramp and/or large elevator access. No stairs.
    *At least two adults are required to assist in unloading and loading equipment.
    *There is no flooring in the dome, so having carpet or a mat will make it more comfortable.
    *Floor should be cleaned before portable is set up.

  • Behavior
    *Visitors should not touch any equipment.
    *No food, drink or gum is allowed.
    *Some visitors may feel dizzy at times due to the motions of the images. If that happens, they should close their eyes for a few         seconds and it will pass.

School Events

Barlow Planetarium School Spirit Night Fundraiser

Have a fun and educational fundraising event at the Barlow Planetarium. Schedule a Barlow Planetarium School Spirit Night for a private night of shows for just your students, families, extended families and neighbors.
